The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Lead Internal Auditor to deliver the organisation’s internal audit programme, covering ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and process audits. You’ll be responsible for managing all internal audits, setting audit schedules and standard plans, and ensuring robust compliance with quality, health, safety and environmental objectives across the business.
In this role, you’ll manage internal audit KPIs, lead and develop a small team, and provide clear reporting to senior leadership through regular operational meetings. You’ll attend QA leadership meetings, support and lead external audits where required, and act as a mentor and coach, ensuring corrective actions are implemented effectively and continuous improvement is driven throughout the organisation.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will have at least five years’ experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You’ll hold ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 auditor certification, understand safety-critical product characteristics, and bring strong organisational, IT and communication skills, with a meticulous eye for detail.
This role suits a proactive and engaging professional who communicates effectively at all levels and enjoys leading, mentoring and developing others. You’ll work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, demonstrating a flexible, enthusiastic approach and a continuous-improvement mindset. Experience within plastics manufacturing would be advantageous, but a strong track record of audit leadership and team development is essential.
